Mr. Thurber received his undergraduate degree from Union College , and his law degree from Hastings College of Law, University of California . He was a founding partner of the Fisher Thurber law firm and serves as Of Counsel to the Firm, specializing in business and employment law and executive management practices. His many honors include the "Cohen H. Kerr Award" for highest academic achievement in an undergraduate class at Boston University; Boston University's "Utopia Award"; Union College's Gold Key Award for outstanding service to the school; the "Maud Glover Folsom Foundation Award" given to one individual each year in the United States; and a State of Hawaii Senate Resolution specifically acknowledging Mr. Thurber's "outstanding contribution to furthering overall human success." Marshall , along with two partners, started Hawthorne/Stone, a highly successful real estate firm in California . Attention became focused on this company and Thurber started sharing his business theories and methods with others.
